In June 2017, LifeNet Executive Director Stefanie Weiland attended and presented on a panel at the Ahimsa Forum in Annecy, France. The goal of the Ahisma Forum is to “instigate change and implement innovative global health projects that are accessible to the poor and to create an international network of communities.” With a theme of Global Health, Social Entrepreneurship, and Faith Inspired Communities, the forum tackled many of the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) and explored innovative solutions to the needs addressed in the SDGs.
Weiland presented LifeNet’s efforts to transform healthcare in East Africa through improved quality and sustainability of local health centers in Africa. She described LifeNet’s business-minded model and highlighted some of the high-impact results achieved in LifeNet partner health facilities.
