Washington, DC- June 16, 2025: LifeNet International announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Santiago Sedaca as CEO, effective August 1. Sedaca has more than 25 years of experience building and managing international development organizations at scale in Africa and around the world. He is poised to drive LifeNet’s scale of its proven model to save and improve millions more lives.
“Santiago brings a unique skillset and expertise from years of managing development initiatives at scale, driving sustainable impact, and leading large teams through complex programs. “I have experienced many models in international development and am passionate about what LifeNet has developed, which leverages local assets for outsized impact. This accomplishment will lead to 30+ million patient visits receiving quality care, 600,000+ safe mother/baby deliveries, and 18,000+ lives saved at birth each year.
About LifeNet International: LifeNet aims to stop preventable deaths in sub-Saharan Africa, especially for mothers and children, by ensuring faith-based, community health facilities provide high quality healthcare. These facilities are the first, and often only, point of care that is accessible for the most vulnerable. Additionally, across the African continent, these facilities provide 40% of health services—as LifeNet improves care and stops preventable deaths here, health realities will drastically improve for millions. LifeNet currently works with 450+ faith-based health facilities across 7 countries, including Burundi, Burkina Faso, DRC, Uganda, Malawi, Kenya, and Ghana. This network of facilities provided quality care to 10.5 million patient visits, including 200k safe mom/baby deliveries, in 2024. And, the network saved the lives of 5,800 mothers and babies at birth last year.
