LIFENET INTERNATIONAL APPOINTS PRESIDENT: DAVE EVANS
LifeNet International has appointed Dave Evans as president, beginning January 15, 2019. Bringing 35 years of strategic leadership experience to the role, Evans will lead the LifeNet executive team into the future as the organization rapidly scales its impact on healthcare in sub-Saharan Africa.
“At a time when LifeNet is poised for accelerated growth, Dave brings 35 years of proven leadership and a demonstrated track record of organizational expansion,” said Chairman of the Board Michael Spraggins. “The LifeNet Board of Directors has great confidence in Dave’s ability to lead the organization in this new dynamic phase of ministry. We are thrilled to have him join LifeNet to lead the organization’s expansion and to see hope and healing brought to millions more people in Africa.”
In 2018, the LifeNet Board of Directors made the strategic decision to hire a president with experience in growing nonprofit organizations. The search concluded with the hiring of President Dave Evans, who will lead LifeNet into a new phase of growth and development. Stefanie Weiland, Executive Director of International Operations will continue building on her seven years of executive leadership at LifeNet in overseeing and directing international operations and programs.
“As LifeNet positions to dramatically scale impact in Africa, we want to dedicate our best efforts to propel and support the programs and staff who are responsible for that impact,” said Weiland. “Our mission is to transform African health systems so that they can provide quality, sustainable care. This new role of president and our growing executive team will empower our programmatic work so that millions more patients receive quality care and live whole and healthy lives through greater health equity.”
Prior to joining LifeNet, Evans led innovation and strategic initiatives for World Vision International and served as President of Food for the Hungry US. He has broad experience in international relief and development leadership and has lived and worked for 14 years in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Bolivia and Zimbabwe.
“I feel very honored to be entrusted with this gift of stewarding the growth of an exciting, young organization with great potential to impact the lives of people in need across the African continent,” said Evans. “This is the moment for LifeNet to reach new heights and I am excited to join and lead a team of committed and experienced staff in achieving great things.”
